In the heart of Taormina, GUESS has opened a new boutique that celebrates the dialogue between brand identity and local culture. The store, a bespoke project curated by Hi Contract, is designed to merge contemporary design with the most authentic elements of Sicilian heritage.
Spanning over 60 square meters, the store is built on a clear concept: blending the brand’s iconic aesthetic with the colors, materials, and architectural details rooted in Sicilian tradition—reinterpreted through a modern lens. The design comes to life through original details: the space features a continuous peach-colored marmorino boiserie, enhanced by a floral bas-relief motif that wraps the walls in a warm, inviting atmosphere. The color palette draws inspiration from the southern landscape: sunbaked earth tones, terracotta chandeliers casting a soft, natural glow, walnut wood accents, and bold black contrasts add depth and elegance to the space. Architectural elements like arches, niches, and the preserved original flooring complete a setting rich in local character.
The custom-made furnishings play a key role in the overall narrative, enhancing the presentation of the products while seamlessly integrating with the identity of the space. One striking detail is the embossed checkerboard pattern on the storage unit doors, introducing a rhythmic visual texture. The central display counter stands out with its peach marmorino frame, walnut shelves, and a top showcase illuminated from within, complete with alcantara-lined trays. The bespoke cash desk echoes the same finishes and includes functional compartments for service operations. Freestanding bronze-painted metal clothes racks with peach marmorino bases, and a built-in eyewear display with a matte black lacquered frame and backlit walnut shelves, complete the layout.
This is more than just a retail fit-out—it’s a design statement that transforms the space into a place of identity, where every detail helps tell the story of a genuine connection between brand, territory, and culture.
