Hyatt Centric Milan Centrale, a 140-room hotel in the heart of Milan, renews its identity through an extensive restyling project designed by CSMN Architects. A layered intervention that redefines the urban hospitality experience through a sophisticated, material-driven and deeply welcoming design language.
As part of the project, Hi Contract managed the production and renovation of 121 rooms across 14 floors, helping transform the interiors into contemporary, elegant and highly functional spaces.
The project develops around an aesthetic research in which glass, lacquered finishes and textiles interact to create warm and enveloping atmospheres. Terracotta tones, dark woods, cream shades and metallic accents define a refined palette inspired by Milan’s cosmopolitan character.
A distinctive feature of the rooms is the large illustrated wallpaper, created exclusively for the hotel: a narrative map of the city depicting Milanese landmarks, symbols and urban routes. An integrated LED system positioned behind the headboard illuminates the wall from below, enhancing the graphic and creating a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere.
Hi Contract produced the custom furnishings for the rooms, shaping a design language defined by soft forms and tailored details. The upholstered headboards in Trevira fabric, developed with specific densities to ensure maximum comfort, integrate power outlets and adjustable reading lights. The custom bedside tables in glossy lacquered metal and back-lacquered glass interact with the suspended desks, also made of metal with lacquered glass inserts, creating visual and material continuity throughout the space.
The intervention also required complex operational management. To allow the hotel to remain fully operational throughout the renovation, the construction site was organized with the refurbishment of one floor per week, coordinating disposal works, painting, technical upgrades, wallpaper installation and furniture fitting without interrupting the hotel’s daily operations.
The result is a contemporary and immersive environment where design, comfort and urban identity merge into an authentic and distinctly Milanese hospitality experience.
